Иисус возвёл очи Свои на небо и сказал: Отче Святой! Не о них только молю, но и о верующих в Меня по слову их, да будут все едино, как Ты, Отче, во Мне, и Я в Тебе, так и они да будут в Нас едино, — да уверует мир, что Ты послал Меня. И славу, которую Ты дал Мне, Я дал им: да будут едино, как Мы едино. Я в них, и Ты во Мне; да будут совершены воедино, и да познает мир, что Ты послал Меня и возлюбил их, как возлюбил Меня. Отче! которых Ты дал Мне, хочу, чтобы там, где Я, и они были со Мною, да видят славу Мою, которую Ты дал Мне, потому что возлюбил Меня прежде основания мира. Размышления над сегодняшним Словом Божьим
ActiveDefault- Верю ли я в то, что я призван быть единым с Иисусом, так же, как Он един с Богом-Отцом? Верю ли я в то, что я призван разделить ту самую любовь, которую Отец питает к Сыну? Что я при этом чувствую?
- Как я могу в своей жизни донести до других безмерность этой любви?

ActiveDefault- «Да будут все едино, как Ты, Отче, во Мне, и Я в Тебе, так и они да будут в Нас едино… да будут совершены воедино, и да познает мир, что Ты послал Меня и возлюбил их, как возлюбил Меня». Я молюсь этими словами, размышляя над тем, что мир уверует, только если мы будем едины.
- Иисус молится о том, чтобы любовь, которою Бог-Отец возлюбил Его, была в учениках, и Иисус в них. Удивительно, насколько мы близки к Святой Троице. Я размышляю над тем, что во мне, который часто чувствует себя полным грехов и нелюбимым, присутствует та же любовь, которая есть в Святой Троице.

ActiveDefault- Возможно, мне немного сложно поверить в то, что Иисус действительно думал обо мне, когда молился Своему Отцу. Может быть, Он молился только за учеников, которые были с Ним все это время? Но в конце молитвы Иисуса становится ясно, что она относится также и ко мне, потому что я поверил в Иисуса благодаря свидетельству Его учеников. Иисус просит Своего Отца о том, чтобы я был един со всеми остальными христианами. А также о том, чтобы я был с Ним на Небесах и разделил Его славу.
- Какие мысли и чувства приходят ко мне, когда я размышляю над словами этой молитвы Иисуса? Я говорю об этом с Иисусом.

ActiveDefault- Призвал ли меня кто-нибудь к вере своими словами или действиями? Я включен в грандиозный план Бога и призван к единству с Богом-Отцом и со Христом. Слышу ли я призыв быть свидетелем своей веры?
- Благодаря моим словам и действиям другие люди могут поверить во Христа. Какая моя роль в этой миссии?

ActiveDefault- This is the prayer of Jesus for his followers through the ages. Jesus prays for each of us. Can we imagine him at prayer, as he names his apostles, his friends and all he wants to pray for? Prayer is our naming of God; it is also Jesus’ naming of us to his Father. Let him name you. Even take time to think what he might pray for you. In opening ourselves to prayer, we are opening ourselves to Jesus praying for us. Sit and silently allow his prayer for you take over your heart.
- I am one of those who, through the words handed down by the disciples, now believe in Jesus. Here Jesus speaks of me, he prays for me, that I may be one with him and with his Father.
- Jesus wants me to be drawn into the life he shares with his Father. I ask Jesus to help me to let go of anything that holds me back from accepting this generous invitation.
- Jesus draws me into life so that I may give witness. I accept now the nourishment that I need for my spirit, prayerfully considering the ways in which I am called to witness.
- What Jesus asks for us is what he sought for himself: unity with God. As I am invited into this relationship, I consider what it might cost me and I ask for the freedom I need.
- Jesus wants his disciples to live in such a way that the work of God is evident in them. I think of how I live and I name the help I need.
- Lord, I treasure all the chances of fellowship with others who do not believe in you. When I work or talk with them, or love them, or serve or pray with them, your grace is at work in us. These occasions may not be labelled 'ecumenical events', but they carry your blessing.
- Jesus' second prayer at the last supper is for future generations of believers, including ourselves. His prayer is that all of us will be united with God our Father and with him. He is to share with all of us what is deepest in his heart - the glory he had from the beginning of time. Love wants to share all that is best with the beloved.
- Jesus’ prayer that “all may be one” can be misinterpreted. This “oneness” is something much greater and deeper than uniformity, than people professing the same faith and observing the same religious practices. This is a oneness in which love is given and received, a love which embraces difference. Jesus and the Father, while being one, remain distinct from each other. The disciples, while being one with Jesus, retain their own identity and individuality.
- Lord, help me to understand that in love there is difference, but not division.
- Jesus prayed for the apostles and for all who would believe. That is us! Can you imagine Jesus praying somewhere, maybe on the hillside where he went to pray, or among his followers. He is praying for you. What might you think he would be asking his Father for you? Can you make this prayer for yourself? He prays because he loves each of us. How do I pray for people I love? He prays for everyone I know. I can join my prayer with his today.
